RLTA PROGRAM IN BICOL UNDERWAY
The Rapid Land Tenure Appraisal (RLTA) Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol is now underway. Various preliminary activities were already undertaken regionwide as part of the initial process.
Initially, the RLTA was introduced and presented to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Barcelona, Sorsogon headed by Hon. Mayor Atty. Cynthia F. Fortes on January 24, 2020 at Barcelona, Sorsogon.
The Head of the RLTA Team and DENR V OIC, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services (ARD TS) Atty. Ronnel C. Sopsop together with the newly installed OIC, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Herleo Pavericio led the presentation of the RLTA and presented the consolidated Cadastral Maps to the LGU of Barcelona.
“I have personally witnessed the success of the RLTA in Sorsogon as the pilot province of the program in 2018,” said ARD TS Sopsop. He highlighted the significance of the RLTA and the benefits of the systematic adjudication on land titling. He further encouraged the LGU of Barcelona to support and engage in the RLTA program of the DENR, as it compliments to the Mayor’s goal to bring closer public services to the people.
Moreover, ARD Sopsop mentioned setting up a Land Information Office (LIO) within the LGU of Barcelona by virtue of a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA). The LIO will be a great avenue for the constituents of Barcelona and its LGU to lay any concern concerning land titling.
Also present during the event is the Chief of Surveys and Mapping Division Engr. Josie A. Columna with Engr. Emilie L. Nas from the Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division (LPDD) and other PENRO Sorsogon and LPDD Staff.
